Javed Miandad to auction 1992 World Cup ball for dams fund

The money collected from the auction will be donated to Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dam Fund.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 31st July, 2018) Legendary cricketer Javed Miandad has said that he will auction the ball used in the 1992 World Cup final to raise funds for the construction of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dam.

In his video message on social media, Miandad said, “The money collected from the auction of the ball will be donated to Supreme Court of Pakistan Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dam Fund.”

The dams fund has been established by the State Bank of Pakistan on the directions of the Supreme Court. The fund may receive donations from both domestic, international donors and contributions from abroad which will be received at all branches of above mentioned banks where such branches exist.

Donations continue to pour in for the dams fund started by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar for the construction of Daimer Basha and Mohmand Dam. According to Supreme Court's website, the fund has so far received Rs 441,645,770.

The trend was started by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar himself who donated Rs 10 lac for the construction of dams.
