Dera Ghazi Khan (Pakistan Point News – 26th July, 2018) Independent candidate MUHAMMAD HANIF has won PP-289 with 35389 votes. According to the results announced by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Independent candidate won in PP-289 Dera Ghazi Khan-V constituency with 35389 votes. In 2013 general elections, Independent candidate Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar was elected as Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) with 20289 votes. The second runner up was Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians candidate Mian Muhammad Aslam Advocate who got 15520 votes.
At least 17 candidates from different political parties and independent candidates contested in PP-289. In 2013 elections, there were 133420 voters registered in PP-289, out of which 55374 votes were polled out. In 2013 elections, the voter turn-out from this constituency was recorded as 39.35 %.
