DEWA organises brainstorming session for employees who are people of determination

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, organised a brainstorming session for its employees who are people of determination, at its "Reading is Positive Energy Tent" in Zabeel Park, Dubai.

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2018) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, organised a brainstorming session for its employees who are people of determination, at its "Reading is Positive Energy Tent" in Zabeel Park, Dubai.

The session, which features innovative reading activities, aims to support DEWA’s strategy to integrate and empower all its employees. The session is part of the activities organised by the Absher Office at DEWA’s business Support and Human Resources Division for its employees who are people of determination, and regular meetings will be held to learn about their work needs and ensure their access to buildings, facilities, services and information.

"DEWA attaches significant importance to its employees who are people of determination and prioritises them in its social and awareness programmes, in line with the National Policy to Empower People of Determination, which was launched by the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to create an inclusive society that will empower people of determination and their families and provide them with a decent life. The policy also supports the ‘My Community: City for Everyone’ initiative, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a city that is friendly to people of determination by 2020. DEWA is also committed to achieving the UAE National Agenda for Inclusive Employment, to enhance the capabilities of people of determination and provide them with professional and practical skills that will support their economic and social independence. This session is part of DEWA’s knowledge initiatives, which aim to create a knowledge-based society, spread the culture of reading, promote the Arabic language, and make positive changes to society, by raising a cultured generation of readers who will help achieve the UAE’s cultural development," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

Al Tayer explained that DEWA has a fully equipped and flexible environment that enables "employees of determination" to unleash their capabilities and potential, facilitate their inclusion into society, and become involved in their social environment as capable and creative individuals. He also noted that DEWA launched the "Absher Initiative" to take care of its staff who are people of determination, which involves a dedicated team of qualified human resources specialists, as well as a hotline to handle their queries.

"DEWA organises regular activities for its employees who are people of determination, to listen to their ideas and needs. This enables us to develop strategies and plans that consider their specific needs and capabilities," said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.
