ECP issues notice to Imran Khan for media talk on polling day

The PTI chairman also stamped the ballot paper in front of everyone

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 25th July, 2018) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for addressing the media after casting his vote today.

The ECP said that holding such a media talk is a sheer violation of election code of conduct by the election candidate. Moreover, the PTI chairman stamped the ballot paper in front of everyone for which he has been issued a notice.

The ECP has also issued notices to PMLN leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif for talking to the media.

PTI chairman Imran Khan cast his vote in NA-53, Islamabad. The PTI chairman was accompanied by Naeem ul Haque and Zulfi Bukhari.

Talking to media after casting his vote, Imran Khan appealed the people to use their right to vote for the future of Pakistan.

He said that two parties had been ruling the country. This is a chance to defeat Qabza Mafia of the country, he added.

The PTI chairman said that he will play against Nawaz Sharif till the last ball.

Polling across the country is being held today for general elections 2018. Polling began at 8am in the morning and will conclude at 6pm in the evening.

The nation will elect 270 members of the National Assembly and 570 members of all the four provincial assemblies for the next five-year term today.

Around 105.95 million eligible voters – 59.22 million male and 46.73 million female – will exercise their right to vote to mark another democratic transition from one elected government to another.

About 1,1673 candidates are vying for 270 national and 570 provincial assemblies seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has established 83,307 polling stations across the country, of which 17,000 have been declared sensitive. Some 23,424 polling stations are for males and 21,707 for females, besides 40,133 combined polling stations and 43 improvised polling stations have been set up.
