Mystery surrounding Maryam Nawaz’s jail tweets resolved

Maryam Nawaz has reportedly taken Wi-Fi from an influential prisoner in Adiala Jail

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 24th July, 2018) The daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and PMLN leader Maryam Nawaz had sent tweets from jail.

The tweets had led to a new debate whether Maryam Nawaz has internet service available in the jail or somebody else is using her account.

A local tv channel has claimed that Maryam Nawaz has taken the facility of Wi-Fi from an influential prisoner in Adiala Jail.

According to media reports, Maryam Nawaz took Wi-Fi from one Raja Arshad in jail. Raja Arshad is facing sentence in a murder case. He was involved in the murder of a relative of Mian Muhammad Soomro.

Raja Arshad paid heavily to the jail authorities for getting Wi-Fi facility in jail. He was the one who provided internet to Maryam Nawaz too.

In her tweet on Saturday, Maryam shared a famous urdu poem by Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

Sharing the poem, Maryam wrote, ‘Vote ko izzat do’ (Give respect to vote).

Later, on Sunday, another tweet was sent from Maryam Nawaz’s account.

The Accountability Court had announced its verdict in the Avenfield Reference against ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (r) Safdar on July 6.

According to the verdict, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been sentenced to jail for 10 years, his daughter Maryam Nawaz for seven years and Maryam's husband Capt (r) Safdar for one year. Moreover, Nawaz Sharif has been fined £8 million in the case while Maryam Nawaz has been fined £2 million. The London flats will also be confiscated, according to the verdict.
