Islamabad, (Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2018 ) According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, developmentalist agenda and corruption free agenda based candidate tops as people’s choice, pro-poor and ideology based candidate fare worse. A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Assume four political candidates come to you to ask you for your vote.
A says he will eradicate corruption and thus you should vote for him. B says he will construct roads and dams, and bring industrial reforms. C says he will ensure the importance of the vote and the voters because the power is in the hands of the representative of the people and not the elite. D will provide everyone with food, clothes and shelter but cannot eradicate corruption nor ensure employment and development. Out of these four, who would you vote for?” In response to this question, 29% said they would vote for corruption free candidate, 30% said they would vote for developmentalist candidate, 23% said ideological candidate, 8% said mass emancipation / pro-poor candidate, while 10% did not know or did not wish to respond.
