SIH signs partnership agreement with National Institute of Archaeology in Rabat, Morocco

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage, SIH, has signed a partnership agreement with the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage in Rabat, related to non-material heritage.

SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2018) The Sharjah Institute for Heritage, SIH, has signed a partnership agreement with the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage in Rabat, related to non-material heritage.

The signing took place during the visit of an SIH delegation, headed by Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the SIH, to the Morocco Storytelling Festival and the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage.

During the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Abdelouahed Ben-Ncer, Director of the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage in Rabat. Both sides discussed the scientific ambitions of both institutes and the exchange of scientific publications.

"We are very pleased with our visit to the Morocco Storytelling Festival, which was organised by the Liqaat education and Cultures Association and the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage," Dr. Al Musallam said.

The institute is interacting and communicating with similar institutions in Arab countries and around the world, as part of directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to revive Arab heritage, including narrated art and storytelling, he added.

The institute’s participation in the various heritage events are opportunities to showcase the UAE’s heritage and exchange expertise, information and knowledge, to preserve Arab heritage for future generations, he said in conclusion.
