Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education holds graduation ceremony for 2018 Academic Training Programme

The Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education on Monday held a graduation ceremony for the 72 students of the 2018 Academic Training Programme, ATP.

DUNDEE, (Pakistan Point News - 10th Jul, 2018) The Al-Maktoum College of Higher education on Monday held a graduation ceremony for the 72 students of the 2018 Academic Training Programme, ATP.

''This was the 26th such programme since the first-ever Summer school in 2003 and the biggest-ever group of overseas female students to visit the college. Since the first-ever Summer School of 2003, more than 1,200 students have travelled to Dundee to participate,'' said Mirza Al-Sayegh, Chairman of the Al-Maktoum College board.

The students, from 17 different institutions from the UAE, Egypt and Malaysia learned about Scotland, its people, its history, and its culture and traditions in the contemporary world over the past three weeks.

The Summer School study topics include Scottish history and culture, globalisation and multiculturalism, Muslim women and leadership, and presentation plus civilisational dialogue. Now, the students head for Paris to complete their trip.

The students come from Abu Dhabi University; Abu Dhabi Police College; American University in Dubai; American University of Sharjah; British University in Dubai; Cairo University; College of Islamic and Arabic Studies; Emirates National Oil Company; University of Fujairah; Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University; Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance; Higher Colleges of Technology; University of Malaya; Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabi University; University of Sharjah; UAE University, and Zayed University.

The College Secretary, Dr. Abi Abubaker, and a number of vice-chancellors of participating universities, along with dignitaries, attended the event.
