Army Chief to donate one-month salary for construction of dams

Ealier, Habib Bank Ltd announced to donate Rs 10 crore for the construction of dams

Rawalpindi (Pakistan Point News – 10th July, 2018) Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has announced to donate one-month salary in dams fund.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Major General Asif Ghafoor while addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi on Tuesday said that dams are necessary for Pakistan. Whoever wants to contribute in this national cause, should come forward.

He announced that the army chief will contribute his one-month salary in the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam.

The trend was started by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar who donated Rs 10 lac for the construction of dams.

Following the chief justice, ISPR DG Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Monday that the officers of Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force would contribute their two-day pay, while soldiers one-day pay for this national cause.

Acting President Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani also announced a donation of Rs1.5 million in the funds meant for the construction of Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Meanwhile, Habib Bank Ltd has announced to donate Rs 10 crore for the construction of dams while the employees of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) announced to contribute their one-day salary in the construction of Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government will contribute their three-day salary to the fund for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
