Disqualification, life sentence, exile not new for Nawaz Sharif: Maryam Nawaz tweets ahead of Avenfield verdict

The verdict on Avenfield reference will be announced today at 2:30pm

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th July, 2018) The verdict on Avenfield London property reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his children is set to be announced today at 2:30pm.

Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz could not appear before the court as they are in London with ailing Kulsoom Nawaz while Capt (r) Safdar was also missing and is reportedly in Mansehra.

However, Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz took to Twitter before the verdict addressing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supporters.

“Remember, the lions of PMLN! Do not worry whatever the verdict may be! This is not new for your Nawaz Sharif. He has faced disqualification, life sentence, exile before too,” she wrote on her Twitter account.

"A good thing is that there is a leader who stands for you, for the beloved country, for respect to your vote, and is ready to give any sacrifice," she said in her second tweet.

"He adopted this way and paid a price despite knowing that it is not easy and he would have to pay a heavy price for it," she added.

"These powers have remained unable to defeat him despite tough situations," she added.

Maryam Nawaz went on to say, "He has his competition with the snakes hiding in the sleeves of democracy who left no opportunity to disrespect vote and remained involved in conspiracies."

“The decision will be taken on July 25. Remember these conspiracies that day. If not now, then never. Success awaits you InshaAllah,” she concluded.

The Accountability Court while rejecting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's plea to defer the verdict in Avenfield reference, will announce the verdict in the case at 2:30pm on Friday, today.

The Accountability Court of Islamabad had on Tuesday fixed July 6 to announce its judgment in the Avenfield London property reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his children.

The court reserved its judgment after the two sides concluded their final arguments in the reference against Sharif family members. The court has conducted proceedings of the reference for nine months and twenty days.

However, former prime minister and PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif had on Wednesday asked the Accountability Court to defer the verdict in the Avenfield case for some days, till the health of his wife improves.

Speaking to media outside the Harley Clinic here, he said the courts reserved decisions for months but he wants that the Accountability Court to not announce decision in his case for some days.

He said he wanted to hear the verdict in the court along with his daughter, who was with him and appeared in the court for about 100 times.

He said he would return to Pakistan whether the decision was in his favour or not. "I will return as soon as Kulsoom's health improves. She underwent an operation yesterday."

The former prime minister said that court announced the verdict on the eligibility of a person from Rawalpindi after reserving the decision for three months. "I am not asking for three months, but a relief for some days. I am not a dictator who will run away from the courts," he said.
