Rejecting PPP, Lyari gave a warm welcome to Imran Khan.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 5th July, 2018) A youth had offered a ‘Pan’ to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan during his recent visit to Karachi.
A crowd of people had come out of their houses after hearing of Khan’s arrival in Karachi. A video in this regard is going viral on social media.
It was the same area of Lyari where stones were thrown at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari when he went there. The people of Lyari while rejecting PPP had raised slogans against it.
However, Lyari gave a warm welcome to Imran Khan. They kept joining Khan’s convoy and also waved PTI flags in the air.
Amid this, a youngster offered Imran Khan a ‘pan’ and said, “Khan Sahab, would you like to have pan?” Khan said that yes, he would like to have ‘meetha pan’.
Earlier, the people of Karachi were greatly offended by the remarks of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) president Shehbaz Sharif who said, “I will turn the pan-eating Karanchi into Lahore,” while he was in Karachi for his election campaign.
The opposition parties and Karachi-ites alike criticised Shehbaz Sharif over these remarks which were termed by them as ‘racist’.
