Rains flood Lahore: Punjab police, traffic wardens lauded for proactive performance

Regardless of the flooded roads, the traffic wardens and Punjab police performed their duty with full devotion

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 4th July, 2018) A flood-like situation was developed in Lahore following the heavy rain and thunderstorm the city received on Tuesday.

An emergency alert was also issued in Lahore in view of the heavy rains. Water is still accumulated on some of the roads of the city while a part of an under construction road in front of GPO Chowk, Mall Road submerged into the ground.

However, what came into attention was the performance of Punjab Police and traffic wardens on the flooded roads of the city. A video of the traffic wardens went viral on social media where they are performing their duty while standing in accumulated rain water.

Regardless of the flooded roads, the traffic wardens performed their duty with full devotion. In the video, one of the traffic warden is seen disposing off the rain water.

The social media users lauded the efforts of this traffic warden.

Meanwhile, a picture of Punjab Police officials has also gone viral on social media who are removing the trees fallen on the roads.

At least six people were killed and 16 others suffered injuries in rain-related incidents in different areas of provincial capital on Tuesday. A spokesman of Rescue 1122 said that four persons were electrocuted while two others were in killed in a building collapse incident.

However, all the departments proactively worked for disposal of water while work is underway to fill the crater at GPO Chowk.
