Operation Raddul Fasaad: Two soldiers martyred, six terrorists killed in South Waziristan

Soldiers Razzaq Khan and Mumtaz Hussain embraced martyrdom during exchange of fire

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 23rd June, 2018) The security forces continue to take action under operation Raddul Fasaad.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG General Asif Ghafoor, the security forces conducted successful intelligence based operation (IBO) in Spina Mela village near Ladha, South Waziristan.

The IBO was launched on reports of presence of few terrorists who had entered the area morphed into returning temporarily displaced persons (TDPs). After exchange of heavy fire, six terrorists, including high value target terrorist Nanakar involved in killing of local people and Maliks was killed.

During exchange of fire, Soldiers Razzaq Khan and Mumtaz Hussain embraced martyrdom.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered along with communication sets through which terrorists were in communication with their handlers across the border in Afghan Province Paktia.

Earlier in May, security forces killed a high value target of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) in an action taken under Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad in which Colonel Sohail Abid was martyred.

According to ISPR, the terrorist was involved in killings of over 100 innocent people belonging to Hazara Community and police.

The Pakistan Army launched country-wide Operation Raddul Fasaad in February 2017 to curb the latent/residual threat of terrorism.
