The Pet Centre of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore conducted concluding ceremony of 5-day training on “Basic Clinical and Diagnostic Skills in Small Animal Practice” under the project titled “In-service Training Facility of Advance Veterinary Education and Professional Development for Veterinary Professionals” funded by Punjab government at City Campus Lahore

LAHORE (Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2018 ) The Pet Centre of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore conducted concluding ceremony of 5-day training on “Basic Clinical and Diagnostic Skills in Small Animal Practice” under the project titled “In-service Training Facility of Advance Veterinary education and Professional Development for Veterinary Professionals” funded by Punjab government at City Campus Lahore.

Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof DrTalatNaseer Pasha presided over the concluding session and distributed certificates among participants while Prof DrAsim Khalid, Associate Professor DrHafsaZaneb and training participants from various campuses of UVAS, Resource Person of the trainingDr Amir Aslam,who is a Small Animal Practitioner from Houston Animal Hospital, USA,were present on the occasion. In his address, Prof Pasha said that UVAS is providing the best clinical and diagnostics facilities to people and bringing more progress in terms of the latest diagnostic equipment and infrastructure development.

He said such trainings bring competency in participants intheir professionals work. He lauded the organizersfor arranging such a useful training for the capacity building of young veterinarians. Prof DrAsim Khalid lauded the UVAS leadership, especially for clinical services development for disease diagnostics of pets. He said UVAS is renovating its pets center comprisingof two section feline and canine with all necessary best facilities for animal treatment. Various aspects were discussed in the five-day trainingrelated tosmall animal hospital design, mandatory minimum equipment required, prescription writing and documentation, Pre exam of patient by the staff, exam by the vet, treatment, admission, client counseling, interpretation of diagnostic tests, Blood work, X-rays, ultrasound, vaccination and deworming of pets and tick control etc.
