Power crisis: Imran Khan asks Caretaker PM to inform people of real picture

Says the long-suffering public has a right know about the promises and claims of the PMLN govt

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 8th June, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has written a letter to caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasir-ul-Mulk to inform the people about the acute power crisis facing the country.

In a series of tweets, the PTI chairman wrote, “As the country confronts spiraling power and water crises alongside a heat wave, I have written a letter to the Caretaker PM to take nation into confidence and inform them of the correct picture of the acute power crisis and status of the Rs 500bn circular debt left by the PMLN govt.”

“The long-suffering public has a right know whether the promises and claims by the PMLN govt of having ended loadshedding were nothing but a pack of lies. People would also like to know the veracity of Shehbaz Sharif's statement that any power failures now would be Caretaker govt's fault,” he further said.

“I have pointed out to Caretaker PM that it is his government's responsibility to take nation into confidence and inform them who is responsible for this sorry state of affairs in power sector; and is there any semblance of "good governance" that the PMLN government boasted about ad nauseum?” Imran Khan concluded.
