Four public healthcare centres receive international healthcare re-accreditation

The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP, has announced that four of its primary healthcare centres in Dubai has received the Renewal of JCI Accreditation for the application of standards and specifications in line with global requirements and international best practices.

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 06th Jun, 2018) The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP, has announced that four of its primary healthcare centres in Dubai has received the Renewal of JCI Accreditation for the application of standards and specifications in line with global requirements and international best practices.

The Al Rashidiya, Al Muhaisnah, Hor Al Anz, and Al Ittihad medical centres received this accreditation renewal for providing high-quality healthcare services and management, patient and crew safety and upkeep of infrastructure and facilities, in accordance with internationally established standards, protocols and results of clinical care.

Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for Health Centres and Clinics, commended the efficient administration of these healthcare centres and reiterated their role in bolstering the image of the country’s healthcare centres among the best in the world and giving them a competitive edge. He also lauded their efforts in inculcating a culture of innovation and increasing confidence among customers.

Dr. Al Rand pointed out that the renewal of the international accreditation falls within the ministry’s strategy of providing comprehensive, integrated and world-class healthcare, in line with the framework of the National Agenda 2021. He emphasised the continuous support received from the Minister of Health and Prevention and the ministry’s under-secretary, which has contributed in no mean measure to the renewal of the accreditation.

He said the global accreditation was recognised by the World Health Organisation, WHO, and represents a significant milestone in the provision of quality medical care and the continuous efforts to upgrade services based on global best practices. He added that these healthcare centres represented the world-class quality of the existing systems, processes and outcomes and pointed out that they were subject to the most stringent of inspections and assessed as per the strictest of standards, to comply with the accreditation requirements and re-accreditation inspection every three years.

Dr. Aisha Suhail, Director of Primary Healthcare Centres, said the JCI International Healthcare Renewal Accreditation was based on reports submitted by experts after several field visits to evaluate the quality of healthcare services based on global standards. She added that these four healthcare centres were a testimony to the ministry’s focus on world-class treatment and patient care facilities.

She pointed out that the global targets on which these healthcare centres were assessed include patient safety, service availability, assessment and care, disease control, education, information management and human resources, facilities management systems and leadership and management systems.

The four centres received the accreditation for the first time in 2015.
