Australian journalist shares Uber experience with happy Pakistani driver

Says I’ve never met someone so grateful to be in Australia

Melbourne (Pakistan Point News – 6th June, 2018) Australian journalist and digital marketeer Steve Smith had the experience to take a ride with a Pakistani Uber driver and shares how the Pakistani man was so grateful to be in Australia.

Smith wrote on his Twitter, “My Uber driver tonight is a man from Pakistan who arrived here by boat in 2012. I’ve never met someone so grateful to be here. “Australia is the BEST country and Melbourne, I love MELBOURNE! I made the best decision!” He’s positively beaming. Amen my man.”

Smith was happy over meeting him and gave him five stars.

The two talked cricket too.

Later, as comments of all kinds pour in on Twitter, Smith responded to one reply that said, “He went there illegally. Why would you promote such a move?”

“My good dude, there is no such thing as illegal asylum seeking. He is making the absolute best of his new life. Be happy for him,” Smith replied.

Now this is the positivity we need in our lives but everything related to Pakistan has to face an Indian backlash too.

Smith was pretty annoyed at it.

Finally, Smith said, "It was bad enough when Indian and Pakistani users were hurling abuse at each other earlier but that was too much."
