ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2018) The Zayed Humanitarian Forum has praised the role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
The forum, which was held yesterday at the Sheikh Zayed Hall of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, highlighted the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Volunteer Programme and its achieving its humanitarian objectives, through its nine-month volunteer campaigns in several African countries, treating thousands of underprivileged women and children.
At the end of the forum, the participants sent a letter thanking President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting humanitarian action, whose foundations were established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The participants also sent a thank you letter to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for her role in empowering the youth, especially women, in volunteer work and human giving, through the launch of the Fatima bint Mubarak Volunteer Programme, under the slogan, "We are all our mother, Fatima."
The forum recommended the launch of local international humanitarian initiatives to empower Emirati youth and create Emirati humanitarian youth leaders, through a partnership between government, private and non-profit institutions, in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa to make 2018 the Year of Zayed and coinciding with the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Action.
The forum stated that the initiative aims to create a humanitarian culture and train UAE nationals to be leaders and attain leading humanitarian skills, by adopting innovative local and international humanitarian projects, in partnership with government, private and non-profit organisations.
This recommendation was declared at the end of the forum, in the presence of senior volunteer and humanitarian specialists and with the participation of over 66 government and private organisations.
