Asad Durrani’s name to be put on ECL over ‘The Spy Chronicles’: ISPR

A formal court of inquiry ordered to probe the matter

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 28th May, 2018) Lt Gen (r) Asad Durrani was called at General Headquarters today to explain his position following the controversy on the recently launched book ‘The Spy Chronicles’ written by former Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chiefs.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted about this on Monday.

“Lt Gen Asad Durrani, Retired was called at GHQ today to explain his position on recently launched book ‘Spy Chronicles’,” he said.

Moreover, a formal court of inquiry will probe the matter while Lt Gen (r) Asad Durrani’s name has been put on the Exit Control List.

“A formal court of Inquiry headed by a serving Lt Gen has been ordered to probe the matter in detail. Competent authority approached to place his name on ECL,” the ISPR DG said in his tweet.

The former officials of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Indian intelligence agency RAW have published a book together. The book is titled as ‘The spy chronicles’ and written by General Asad Durrani of ISI and former chief of Indian Raw A.S Dulat.

The book discussed Mumbai attacks, so-called Indian surgical strike in Azad Kashmir, Kalbhushan Yadav’s arrest, Nawaz Sharif, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Kashmir, Muzaffar Burhan Wani and Akhand Bharat. Other than that, the book also predicts restoration of ties between Indiaand Pakistan.
