Former Law Minister Zahid Hamid to not take part in next elections

Zahid Hamid's son to contest elections on his behalf

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 11th May, 2018) Former Federal law minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Zahid Hamid has said that he will not take part in the upcoming elections of 2018.

His son will however contest elections from his seat, he said.

He said that this was his last budget speech, and added that the credit for the government’s and his performance goes to Nawaz Sharif. He said that load shedding has almost ended in the country.

The former law minister said that the funds for Karachi Green Line and other projects are a good omen, and added that funds have also been allocated for brave Pakistan Army. He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the vision of Nawaz Sharif.

Former law minister Zahid Hamid had resigned voluntarily to steer the country out of crisis created due to the Faizabad sit-in staged by religio-political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah over an amendment related to Khatm-e-Nubuwwat clause in the Elections Act 2017. The bill was prepared by the parliamentary committee consisting of all the political parties and later the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat clause was amended to its original form.
