Says he would spend as much as required to restore the mosque to its original condition
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 25th Apr, 2018) Pakistan’s renowned business tycoon Malik Riaz has appealed to the chief justice regarding Badshahi Mosque.
Riaz said that he would spend as much as required to restore the mosque to its original condition. He asked the chief justice to listen to the appeal of Baab-e-Pakistan and Badshahi Mosque.
There are holes in the ceiling and walls of the mosque. Riaz said that whoever will restore the Badshahi mosque would be benefited. He said that it would be so rewarding that it would be enough for the whole lifetime.
The government should either give it to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) or me, he said, and added that the committees are not purposed to do this job. The NAB can look after the decisions of the committee while I can spend as much as required in its renovation.
Riaz said that he had asked Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to look at Bahria mosque at one hand and Badshahi Mosque’s dilapidated condition on the other. After this, a committee was formed. Kamran Lashari was appointed the committee’s head. Then the department of Auqaf came and they both entered into a clash.
He said that he feels sad to see the mosque in bad condition. There are heaps of garbage but nobody is there to look after it.
