The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Kazakhstan (KazNU), ranked at 236 in the world ranking has honoured Executive Director, Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) Dr S M Junaid Zaidi with prestigious Al-Farabi Gold Medal for his outstanding services and contributions to the cause of science and technology for development in the South.
Astana, (Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2018) : The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Kazakhstan (KazNU), ranked at 236 in the world ranking has honoured Executive Director, Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) Dr S M Junaid Zaidi with prestigious Al-Farabi Gold Medal for his outstanding services and contributions to the cause of science and technology for development in the South. Dr G M Mutanov on the occasion lauded the efforts of Dr. Zaidi for facilitating the scientific collaboration of Kazakhstan with other member countries of the Commission. He congratulated Dr Zaidi on establishing the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) in Pakistan, which under his leadership as founding Rector, has grown into a top-ranking university and a Centre of Excellence. While thanking KazNU, Dr Zaidi reiterated his resolve to carry on the mission of a prosperous South by effective use of science and technology for sustainable development.
