The new 800 CC cars includes United Auto's ‘Bravo’ and Datsun’s ‘redi-Go’
Lahore (Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2018) Two vehicles have been introduced in the market to compete with the famous Suzuki Mehran.
Under Automotive Policy 2016-21, several local and international auto companies have started their operations in Pakistan. United Autos and Nissan are the prominent ones among them. Both of these companies are going to launch their cars in Pakistan that will compete with Suzuki Mehran.
Mehran has been the most popular vehicle in local market since past three decades. We have been hearing for a while that Suzuki is considering stopping manufacturing Mehran but it has not happened yet. Despite all the criticism and flaws, Suzuki sold more than 42,000 units of Mehran in 2017. However, two new 800 CC vehicles are being introduced in the market, including United Auto's ‘Bravo’ and Datsun’s ‘redi-Go’.
However, redi-Go’s launch is yet to be confirmed. Nissan Company had ended the Datsun brand in 1998, after which it was restored with Datsun Go’s launch in 2012. Datsun’s redi-Go was launched in 2016, in which the company introduced a 0.8 liter engine. After the popularity of this model, the company introduced 1.0 liter engine in this model.
This car's length is 3,429 mm, width 1,560 mm, height 1,541 mm and wheel base is 2,348 mm. The car can travel 25 kilometers per liter while 35 liters of petrol can be added in its fuel tank. A special feature of this car is that it has air bags which are not available in Suzuki Mehran. The company plans to introduce Datsun Go and Datsun Go Plus in Pakistan. Both these cars have also been seen test driving on Pakistan's roads.
On the other hand, leading United Autos has also announced launching an 800 CC car in Pakistan. This vehicle is named Bravo. Its engine will be 800 CC three cylinders. United Autos Sales and Marketing General Manager Afzal said that this car will have all the features and security arrangements that are not available in other local vehicles.
United Autos has also referred to Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO) to get copyrights of this model’s design. The company has also established its manufacturing plant in Lahore. The tough competition between Mehran, redi-Go and Bravo will be exciting as the people in market are also awaiting the launch of these vehicles.
