PMLN’s strategy to counter deserters ineffective

The members from South Punjab have put forward strong conditions to remain in the party

Lahore (Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2018) The strategy devised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) to counter the deserters in Punjab has proved to be ineffective. According to media reports, the assembly members have announced not to trust PMLN’s promises. The members from South Punjab have put forward strong conditions to remain in the party. The bureaucracy of entire Punjab has been mobilized while Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has refused the demand to separately meet these assembly members.

Sources said that a plan-B is now being implemented to keep the party united. According to a report published in a local newspaper, the PMLN lawmakers have been tried to ensure that they will be given party tickets in the forthcoming elections and that they will be provided every kind of support. However, the lawmakers from South Punjab are not so easy to appease and the PMLN is now directing senior officials to resolved the issues of the province. The government has also decided to fully use government resources to meet the demands of members of South Punjab. Sources said that Punjab Chief Minister Sharif has assured the angry members that he will soon resolve their problems by visiting their Constituencies. Furthermore, the chief minister has directed administrative officers to immediately complete ongoing development schemes in South Punjab.
