New Islamabad Airport Opening Date is Announced After years of delay, and whopping increase in construction cost. New Islamabad International Airport will be functional on April 20th 2018
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2018) New Islamabad International Airport is all set to go functional from 20th April. After years of delay, and whopping increase in construction cost, New Islamabad international airport construction has been finally completed. Pakistan’s biggest and state of the art New Islamabad International Airport will be inaugurated on 20th of next month. Prime Minister Shahid Shaqan Abbasi will inaugurate the newly constructed airport.
Construction of New Islamabad International Airport was initiated in Musharraf regime. Project has been completed with an estimated cost of Rs 85 billion. Airport has two runways and it will cater 9 million passengers per annum. Airport is also equipped with state of the art facilities and equipment including modern aerobridges, radar, and airfield lighting system. 15 passenger boarding bridges and a vast parking area are also part of airport project.
