On Saturday, Amir Liaquat while speaking during a TV show, announced his return to politics and indicated his PTI joining by terming the party as his favourite one.
Karachi (Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2018) Renowned tv anchor and religious scholar Amir Liaquat Hussain is all set to join PTI. Amir Liaquat was in talks with PTI leadership from last couple of months. Renowned TV anchor was all set to join PTI last year in October as well, but Imran Khan was forced to postpone the plane after severe pressure and protest from several party leaders and workers. Now on Saturday, Amir Liaquat while speaking during a TV show, announced his return to politics and indicated his PTI joining by terming the party as his favourite one.
Whereas PTI Karachi leader Imran Ismail also confirmed the news. Not to forget, TV Anchor was part of MQM in 2016, but parted his ways with party after a brief detention at Rangers headquarters. He was detained after MQM workers attacked media houses following the party’s supremo Altaf Hussain’s ‘anti-Pakistan’ speech. Since then, Amir Liaquat has been hosting shows on a private TV channels. He came to fore once again when the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority banned him from appearing on national television for ‘preaching hate’. But later, Pemra decision was over turned by Supreme Court of Pakistan, which allowed TV host to resume his Media Career.
