The Disabled Inclusive Association (DIA) in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) granted "Achievement Awards" to special persons here on Saturday.

Rawalpindi, (Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2018) : The Disabled Inclusive Association (DIA) in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) granted "Achievement Awards" to special persons here on Saturday. The award distribution ceremony held at RAC auditorium was attended by philanthropists, social activists, public sector organizations, civil society representatives, office bearers and members of DIA and people from different sections of society.

Besides acknowledgment of outstanding performances of special persons in different walks of life, they were awarded medals and certificates of excellence. Wheel chairs, white cans, artificial limbs, sewing machines and other helpful articles were distributed among deserving special persons. Addressing the ceremony, President DIA Ayesha Rehman expressed her gratitude to all those organizations and individuals who had extended helping hand to special persons by donating useful items which would help them to earn their livelihood in a respectable manner.

She revealed that we had just started this noble cause with the encouragement and assistance of family friends and DIA has been formed with the objective to address the difficulties of disabled persons by providing them helpful environment of education, training and employment. Ayesha Rehman was of the view that there are very limited organizations in this sector which can understand the suffering of special persons and their grievances could only be resolved after finding need based solutions.

She mentioned the keen interest and efforts of his teammates which rendered all possible support and assistance to become mentor of deserving disabled persons. She also briefed about the feature plans of DIA and said that it would be made a vibrant organization for special persons by under taking various ambitious plans of actions. A thrilling performance was presented by renowned versatile artist Ali Zaib and performed on different songs. Various talented special persons also sang beautiful songs and presented skits to entertain audience. Deputy Director Social Welfare Rawalpindi Nabeela Malik and Social Activists Tahira Mushtaq also attended the ceremony and distributed awards among the winners.
