Pakistan Army chief, Iran envoy discuss border management

Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost on Monday met with Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to discuss border management, a military statement said.

RAWALPINDI, (Pakistan Point News - 12th Feb, 2018) : Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost on Monday met with Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to discuss border management, a military statement said. “During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and Pak-Iran border management were discussed,” a statement issued by military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. This was the fourth meeting of Iranian ambassador with Pakistan Army chief.

The first meeting took place in March 2017 soon after the visit by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Islamabad to attend ECO Summit, the second meeting took place in April 2017, while the third meeting took place in October the same year. General Qamar Javed Bajwa had also visited Iran in November last year and met with Iranian leaders to further enhance coordination between the two countries especially in defense sector. The leaders of Iran and Pakistan regularly interact with each other to further improve bilateral ties.
