Islamabad Police launches special campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders

Islamabad Police has launched a special campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders as without arresting proclaimed offenders crimes cannot be controlled, Inspector General Police Islamabad Dr Sultan Azam Taimuri said Saturday.

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - 03rd Feb, 2018) : Islamabad Police has launched a special campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders as without arresting proclaimed offenders crimes cannot be controlled, Inspector General Police Islamabad Dr Sultan Azam Taimuri said Saturday. Addressing the concluding ceremony of three day course regarding the arrest of proclaimed offenders, he said special teams constituted at all police stations with the mandate to arrest the proclaimed offenders.

Sultan Taimuri said control on crime is impossible sans apprehending proclaimed offenders. Islamabad Police would be transformed into a model police force, he said adding that law should be applied across the board for achieving the goals. Corruption must be avoided. He said investigative officers are being paid investigation expenditures to avoid any problem. Police force would continue working as a team. IG expressed satisfaction over the completion of PO management courses, saying that he wanted to watch Islamabad Police as exemplary police force.

He stressed enhancing professional skill of police force. He said school of investigation, school of anti riot and school of information technology have been established in Police Lines for imparting specialized training to police force. The training continues for twelve months. In three days course, the police officials were imparted training about methods of arresting and taking legal action against proclaimed offenders. It was a long duration course, but it was reduced to three days.

The course had been conducted on the directives of Inspector General Police Dr Sultan Azam Taimuri. The participants were imparted training on initiating action against proclaimed under clauses of 77/88, PO management, method of issuing red notice, the method of seeking Interpols’ help, putting Names of proclaimed offenders on the watchlist of immigration and ECL. The concluding ceremony was held at Police line headquarters. AIG Operations Asmatullah Junejo, AIG General Farrukh Rashid, SP headquarters Sumaira Azam, and participants of training including SDPOs, SHOs, and others participated in the course.
