Afghan Govt Rejects Claims That Pakistan Handed Over 27 Prisoners

The Afghan government rejected reports on Wednesday that Pakistan handed over 27 Taliban and Haqqani network prisoners to Afghanistan last year

KABUL,(Pakistan Point News - 31st Jan, 2018 ) : The Afghan government rejected reports on Wednesday that Pakistan handed over 27 Taliban and Haqqani network prisoners to Afghanistan last year. “Pakistan has not handed over any members of these groups,” Afghan tv TOLOnews said quoting a reliable source. This comes after a spokesman for Pakistan’s Foreign Office Mohammad Faisal claimed on Tuesday that Pakistan handed over 27 individuals suspected of having ties to Taliban and Haqqani network to Afghan officials last year. Faisal said Pakistan continues to push any suspected Afghan Taliban and Haqqani elements with a view to "prevent them from using our soil for any terrorist activity in Afghanistan.” The suspected insurgents were handed over to Afghanistan in November 2017, he said.
