Federal Minister for Interior, Prof Ahsan Iqbal has said that understanding of Holy Quran is key to progress and development in this world and success in hereafter.

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - 25th Jan, 2018) : Federal Minister for Interior, Prof Ahsan Iqbal has said that understanding of Holy Quran is key to progress and development in this world and success in hereafter. Speaking at 20th birth anniversary of Radio Pakistan's Sautul Quran Channel on Thursday, Ahsan Iqbal said the incumbent government extended transmission of this channel from five hours to 19 hours and from three stations to 19 stations to disseminate the message of Quran and make people understand the message of God.

He said transmission of this channel will be extended nationwide. He highlighted the importance of learning holy Quran with translation, terming it operator manuals for the Muslims. The Interior Minister recalled that Pakistan Movement gained momentum when slogan Pakistan Ka Matlab Kiya, La Eela Illallah, was given to the Muslims. The slogan was ignored after establishment of the country which given rise to extremism both religious and secular, having negative impact on the society.

He emphasized that the Muslim Ummah will have to revert to its original objectives to meet challenges and get success. Leader of House in Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, the founder of Sautul Quran Channel, in his address said Quran Channel was inevitable in Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and realizing this need the then government had launched this channel. He said Radio Pakistan served as nurseries to provide experts to the electronic media in country.

He appreciated efforts of successive director generals and directors for making Sautul Quran Channel a success. He said this is popular channel among different segments of society and people react whenever some interruption occurs in its transmission. He suggested that more stations of this channel should be launched to ensure its transmission across the country. Director General Radio Pakistan Shafqat Jalil recalled that Sautul Quran Channel was launched with the efforts of Raja Zafarul Haq in 1998 and is now presenting recitation and translation of Holy Quran from 19 stations for 19 hours a day. He said Radio Pakistan's management is planning to start recitation and translation from other Qaris and scholars. He thanked Professor Ahsan Iqbal for patronage to the channel.
