Chairperson Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), Ms. Naheed Memon has said that the friendly old relations between Japan and Pakistan can further be strengthened through mutual cooperation in different sectors.

KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - 23th Jan, 2018) : Chairperson Sindh board of Investment (SBI), Ms. Naheed Memon has said that the friendly old relations between Japan and Pakistan can further be strengthened through mutual cooperation in different sectors. The chairperson SBI stated this while talking to Japanese Consul in Karachi Toshikazu Isomura who called on her at her office here on Tuesday. Exchanging views on various matters of mutual interests, Ms.

Naheed Memon said the volume of the mutual trade between Pakistan and Japan is around $ 1.75 billion per year which include exports and imports. The exports from Pakistan to Japan have decreased to some extent which, she said we want to increase and the cooperation of the Japanese CG is needed in this regard, she added. She stressed upon further mobilize the Pak-Japan business Forum and said if Japan is interested in investment in some particular sectors in Pakistan, the SBI is ready to extend all possible cooperation.

The Chairperson SBI said that the establishment of Special Economic Zone can also be discussed. She said that the Japanese investors are awareness with the investment in Pakistan and the feel comfortable in Pakistan. The Japanese CG agreed with the Chairperson SBI and said that more benefits can be obtained from the investment opportunities through exchange of trade delegations and he agreed to extend every possible cooperation in this regard. The CG of Japan intends to enhance the trade in textile, sports goods, surgical items, sea food, leather items and Mango imports from Pakistan. Talking to the Japanese Envoy, Ms. Naheed Memon said that Pakistan wants the cooperation of Japan in Information Technology, education and vocational training sectors.
