LONDON,(Pakistan Point News - 19th Jan, 2018) : Pakistan’s Ambassador to Washington Aizaz Chaudhry has said that Pakistan does not want Taliban and Haqqani network on its soil and desires that they should go back to join the country’s political process. “ There are no safe havens of Haqqani Network in Pakistan and if the US has any doubt, it must share the information” said the Pakistani Ambassador in an interview with BBC’s urdu Service.

He said it is the earnest desire of Pakistan that both the countries work jointly for bringing stability in Afghanistan. Aizaz Chaudhry said both the United States and Pakistan are in contact including intelligence sharing at working level. He emphasised that they have to keep the lines of communication open.

He said Pakistan is pressuring for the return of Afghan refugees including Taliban and Haqqani network so that they could return to their country and join the national mainstream . He said the Taliban control 43% areas of Afghanistan and they do not need to stay in Pakistan. The High Commissioners said that Afghan refugees are now becoming a security threat for Pakistan as youths are recruited from their camps. He said Pakistan also wants to make the border secure so that the criminal elements could not cross from either side.
