LHC forms new bench to hear petition against PAT protest

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has constituted a new bench to hear a petition against the announced protest of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) scheduled to be held at Mall Road Lahore on Wednesday.

LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2018) : The Lahore High Court (LHC) has constituted a new bench to hear a petition against the announced protest of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) scheduled to be held at Mall Road Lahore on Wednesday. Headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan and comprising Justices Shahid Jamil Khan and Shahid Karim, the new bench will hear the petition against PAT’s protest. Earlier, the LHC chief justice had formed a three-member bench, to be headed by Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan and comprising Justices Shahid Karim and Aminuddin Khan. However, later, Justice Irfan recused himself from the case for personal reasons. Petitioner AK Dogar had pleaded the LHC stating that the ‘grand protest’ is against the state and political parties should not take part in it.
