Lahore, (Pakistan Point News – 6th September, 2016) : Pakistan Army officers visited the grave of Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed, received Nishan-e-Haider and Sitara-e-Jurat, on Defense Day today. The contingent led by Major General Fida Hussain Malik and paid tributes to the 1965 and 1971 war hero on the occasion and presented a Guard of Honor at his grave. Major General Fida Hussain also put floral wreaths on his grave, along with Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed’s family.
Maj. General Fida Hussain said Maj. Shabbir Sharif Shaheed’s life should be a beacon for the entire nation. Maj. Shabbir Sharif Shaheed’s son said he misses his father to this day and that all martyrs are heroes of the nation. Maj. Shabbir Sharif Shaheed is the only person ever to receive the two most coveted Pakistan Army awards of Nishan-e-Haider and Sitara-e-Jurat for his bravery in the 2 wars against India.
