National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) says more than 45 million children will be administered polio drops during first national polio campaign of 2026
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 19th, 2026) A nationwide polio vaccination campaign would be carried out in 159 Pakistan districts from February 2 to February 8, targeting millions of children across the country.
The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) said that more than 45 million children would be administered polio drops during the first national polio campaign of 2026.
The campaign aims to protect children from the crippling virus and strengthen efforts toward polio eradication.
During the seven-day drive, over 400,000 male and female polio workers would be deployed to ensure maximum coverage. The health authorities appealed to parents to fully cooperate with vaccination teams, allow them access to their homes, and ensure that all eligible children receive polio drops.
The parents have also been urged to complete the routine immunization schedule for children from birth to 15 months in a timely manner to safeguard them against vaccine-preventable diseases.
