Brendan Fodi, Adarsh Heremit and Surya Madhia became friends while pursuing their education and went on to establish an AI recruiting company named Mercor in San Francisco
WASHINGTON: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Nov 3rd, 2025) At the age of 22, most individuals are just beginning their professional journey and earning their first paychecks.
However, three co-founders of an artificial intelligence (AI) technology company have defied expectations, becoming the world's youngest self-made billionaires at just 22 years old.
They have surpassed Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, who first entered the Forbes Billionaire list in 2008 at the age of 23.
According to a report by Forbes, Brendan Fodi, Adarsh Heremit and Surya Madhia became friends while pursuing their education and went on to establish an AI recruiting company named Mercor in San Francisco, USA.
Recently, the company received an investment of $350 million, increasing its total valuation to $10 billion. This surge in the company's value has turned the three friends—Brendan Fodi (CEO), Adarsh Heremit (Chief Technology Officer) and Surya Madhia (board Chairman)—into billionaires.
Adarsh Heremit and Surya Madhia first met at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Francisco, where they also won speech competitions. Surya's parents immigrated to the United States from India, and he was born in the US while Adarsh moved from India to the US for his education and eventually settled there.
In an interview with Forbes, Adarsh shared, "What amazed me is that if I hadn't been working on my company, I would have graduated just a few months ago. My life has changed permanently in a very short time."
The trio met while Adarsh was attending Harvard University, and Surya was applying to Georgetown University. They made the bold decision to drop out of their educational paths to launch their company.
The three were awarded a fellowship by billionaire investor Peter Thiel to help them establish their startup.
Just a few weeks ago, 27-year-old Shayne Coplan, the founder of the cryptocurrency platform PolyMarket, was declared the world's youngest self-made billionaire. Prior to him, this title had been held for 18 months by Alexander Wang, the founder of Skyn AI, while Lucy Guo, co-founder of the same company, became the youngest female self-made billionaire at the age of 30.
