Pakistan and UAE Strengthen Ties Through Governance and Innovation Exchange

Dubai: (Pakistan Point News - 08 July, 2025) Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the United Arab Emirates, met with H.E. Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, in Dubai to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation through knowledge and experience sharing in governance and public sector innovation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Tirmizi expressed appreciation for the UAE’s hospitality and highlighted the long-standing fraternal relationship between the two nations. He commended the UAE's visionary leadership for fostering an inclusive and diverse society, which includes a large and vibrant Pakistani community.

Ambassador Tirmizi also thanked the UAE Government for hosting a high-level Pakistani delegation led by Mr. Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways, and Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit. The delegation is participating in an intensive two-day experience exchange program (July 8–9), aimed at learning best practices from UAE ministries, with a focus on innovation in governance and public service delivery.

H.E. Abdulla Lootah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to robust collaboration with Pakistan, particularly in governance, competitiveness, and innovation. He acknowledged Pakistan’s strong potential in various sectors and reiterated the UAE’s support for joint initiatives. He emphasized the mutual benefit of learning and sharing solutions between the two countries.

Ambassador Tirmizi conveyed that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is particularly interested in learning from the UAE’s successful tax automation systems to improve Pakistan’s domestic revenue collection. He emphasized the importance of maximizing this opportunity for experience sharing.
