Sharjah: (Pakistan Point News - 08 July, 2025) Sharjah Police announced that in 2024, 99.7% of residents reported feeling safe across the emirate. The survey data revealed:
99.7% feel safe during daytime
99.3% feel secure at home at night and in public spaces after dark
98.6% comfortable walking alone at night
98.9% safe on roads and public transport
96.7% trust police stations
97% overall trust in the ability to maintain security
Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, credited the emirate’s rulers for their leadership and policies that strengthened law enforcement. He also praised the Executive and Consultative Councils, and the Department of Statistics and Community Development, for their support in data-driven safety measures .
Public cooperation was highlighted as a key factor, and Bin Amer noted that this achievement reflects Sharjah's goal of a secure, high-quality life under visionary leadership .
Additionally, in 2023 the police response time improved significantly—dropping from 4.58 to 3.39 minutes—supported by a network of 89,772 smart surveillance cameras across the emirate . Serious crime rates also fell to 40 incidents per 100,000 people .
