Under terms of extension, Ronaldo is set to celebrate his 42nd birthday as an Al Nassr player
RIYADH: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 26th, 2025) Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has officially extended his stay at Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr by signing a new two-year contract, putting an end to months of speculation regarding his possible departure.
The announcement was made through Ronaldo’s social media account on platform X, where he shared a photo alongside Al Nassr chairman Abdullah Al-Muhaidib. In the image, Ronaldo holds a customized jersey bearing the number "2027." Accompanying the photo, he wrote: "A new chapter begins — same passion, same ambition. Let’s make history together."
Al Nassr confirmed the news through an official statement, saying that Ronaldo has agreed to a two-year extension, which will keep him with the club until 2027. Club chairman Abdullah Al-Muhaidib signed the agreement on behalf of Al Nassr.
Under the terms of the extension, Ronaldo is set to celebrate his 42nd birthday as an Al Nassr player. He is also expected to represent Portugal in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further cementing his place in football history.
Ronaldo initially joined Al Nassr in late 2022 after parting ways with Manchester United. Since then, he has delivered a stellar performance in the Saudi Pro League, scoring 93 goals in 105 appearances across all competitions for the club.
With a total of 938 career goals for both clubs and country, Ronaldo is rapidly approaching the remarkable milestone of 1,000 professional goals — a feat never before achieved in the sport.
The Portuguese captain recently led his national team to a second UEFA Nations League title, adding to his illustrious record, which also included guiding Portugal to victory in the UEFA Euro Championship.
