Discovery has been made following an intelligence-led operation in Tehran as local media report
TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 18th, 2025) Iranian security forces on Wednesday uncovered a secret network of Israeli Mossad spies and a hidden drone base operating within the country.
The Iranian media reported that the discovery was made following an intelligence-led operation in the capital, Tehran.
The security officials seized a mini-truck loaded with drones, which was intercepted during a raid conducted on the basis of prior intelligence. The truck, carrying eight drones, was allegedly en route from a covert drone-manufacturing facility located in the Peshwa area to an undisclosed destination.
This revelation comes just four days after the exposure of another secret drone factory allegedly established by Mossad operatives inside Iran. Authorities claim that this facility was being used for covert surveillance and possible sabotage missions.
As part of the ongoing crackdown, Iranian security agencies have also arrested eight individuals identified as Mossad agents. In a dramatic twist, one of the captured spies reportedly attempted suicide by ingesting a poison capsule, but the attempt was unsuccessful, officials said.
While the identities of the detained suspects have not yet been disclosed, sources indicate they are being interrogated at an undisclosed location.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have continued to escalate in recent months. Iran has accused Israel of carrying out high-profile assassinations of top-ranking military officers and nuclear scientists within its borders.
