Iranian military says it downed another Israeli F-35 warplane after it allegedly entered Iranian airspace
TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 14th, 2025) Iran on Saturday claimed that it has shot down three Israeli fighter jets within the past 24 hours, killing one pilot and capturing two others.
The Iranian state television reported that the Iranian military stated it downed another Israeli F-35 warplane after it allegedly entered Iranian airspace. A statement from the Israeli military confirmed that an Israeli aircraft crashed in a western region, and the pilot was captured after ejecting.
Iranian media further reported that the third aircraft was likely brought down using an Iranian-made air defense system.
Earlier, Iran had already claimed the downing of two other Israeli F-35 jets—resulting in the death of one pilot and the capture of a female pilot.
The tensions escalated between the two nations yesterday when Israeli forces launched strikes on residential buildings in Tehran. The attacks reportedly killed over 100 people, including top-ranking army officials and prominent nuclear scientists.
In retaliation, Iran launched a five-phase ballistic missile assault on Israel, targeting over 150 military and intelligence sites and causing at least 10 confirmed casualties. Iran has continued targeting Israeli positions using suicide drones and is expected to carry out further missile attacks in the coming hours.
Meanwhile, Israel has reportedly struck more than 150 targets inside Iran including military installations.
The global leaders and international organizations have called for immediate de-escalation, but the conflict shows no signs of slowing down.
