Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa has administered oath to new ad-hoc judges at the Supreme Court today
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 29th, 2024) Justices Sardar Tariq Masood and Mazhar Alam Mian Khel took their oaths as ad-hoc judges of the Supreme Court on Monday.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered oaths to the ad-hoc judges at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court premises.
The top court judges and Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan attended the ceremony.
Both justices have been appointed for a one-year term.
The Supreme Judicial Council had earlier approved appointment of the said judges in a meeting. Later, President Zardari approved their appointments.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf criticized the appointment of these ad-hoc judges, calling it a conspiracy and requesting that the relevant authorities should stop such appointments.
