Under the PCB’s proposed schedule, all of India's matches are planned to be held in Lahore, with hopes that India will take part.
DUBAI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 22nd, 2024) International cricket Council (ICC) approved the budget for the 2025 Champions Trophy on the final day of its meetings.
The tournament is set to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025, across three venues: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
Under the PCB’s proposed schedule, all of India's matches are planned to be held in Lahore.
The budget was collaboratively developed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the ICC, with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi representing Pakistan in the discussions.
In preparation for the event, the PCB has earmarked Rs12.80 billion for upgrades to three key stadiums: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.
The PCB remained optimistic that India would participate, despite having played in Pakistan before. The board maintained that Pakistan, as the host nation, should be the exclusive venue for the tournament.
The ICC’s annual meeting continued in Colombo from July 19 to 22, where the PCB will push for all matches to be hosted in Pakistan.
