Raheel Sharif buried this issue as he left and got something in return: Dr Farrukh Saleem
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 16th May, 2018) Anchorperson and analyst Mansoor Ali Khan has said that former army chief General (r) Raheel Sharif had done a settlement in Dawn Leaks 1.
“I request Dr Farrukh Saleem to explain his statement to which Saleem said that he has said what he wanted to say. Raheel Sharif buried this issue as he left and got something in return.”
The anchorperson said to Saleem that you are making a big allegation on the former army chief, and added if the former army chief had really done this deal and did this against the security of the country, the matter should be taken to Supreme Court.
The former defence secretary present on the program said that he thinks this allegation is based on a misunderstanding because Gen (r) Sharif did not make any deal. He said that a woman was involved in the matter; therefore, it was cautioned that her name is not taken. Other than that, he remained firm and did not hold back until all those he doubted were punished, he added.
Renowned journalist Rauf Klasra had said the other day that Raheel Sharif had himself called Maryam Nawaz to congratulate her, informing her that her name has been removed from Dawn Leaks.
Gen (r) Sharif wanted a one-year extension in his tenure as he will then come to a position that he himself could be appointed as the army chief. The former army chief was offered a deal that he will be given an extension if Maryam Nawaz’s name is removed from Dawn Leaks, Klasra had claimed.
