Riyadh, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 27 يوليو 2026ء) The auction serves as a major attraction for falconers from around the world, particularly after the National Center for Wildlife (NCW) announced earlier this year that all rounds of its competitions will be dedicated to juvenile falcons (farkh) sold through the auction. It also provides falconers and visitors with an opportunity to explore some of the finest locally and internationally bred falcons.
In 2025, the auction recorded a 23% increase in sales, with total sales exceeding SAR13 million, compared with more than SAR10 million in 2024. The number of falcons sold also rose by 27% to 1,103, up from 872 a year earlier.
International participation also expanded, with the auction attracting 67 breeding farms from 23 countries, marking increases of 20% in participating farms and 21% in participating countries compared with 2024, when 56 farms from 19 countries took part. A total of 19 national breeding farms participated in last year’s auction.
The auction’s steady growth has continued over recent years. In 2024, sales surpassed SAR10 million following the sale of 872 falcons, compared with more than SAR8 million with the sale of 642 falcons in 2023.
The auction reflects the evolution of falconry from a deeply rooted national heritage into a well-organized, credible international market with economic and cultural value. It also reinforces the NCW’s role as the national body leading the development of the falconry sector, while creating broader growth opportunities for breeders and investors and enabling them to access international markets.
