Al-Ukhdood Archaeological Site Draws Over 17,500 Visitors in First Half of 2026

Najran, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 21 يوليو 2026ء) Dating to the mid-first century BC, Al-Ukhdood served as an important commercial center along the Incense Route. The site features a fortified city wall extending approximately 235 meters in length and 220 meters in width, with building foundations constructed from carved stone blocks ranging from two to four meters in height.

The Heritage Commission has established the Al-Ukhdood Visitor Center, spanning 300 square meters indoors and 3,400 square meters of outdoor courtyards. The center features interactive exhibitions, 3D models, children's halls, educational programs, and field tours showcasing archaeological discoveries.
