New York, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 21 يوليو 2026ء) The event was held as part of the council's Quality of Life Initiative, which aims to strengthen Saudi-U.S. cooperation in the sports, tourism, entertainment, and hospitality sectors while supporting the Kingdom's economic transformation objectives.
The event was attended by Minister of State, Cabinet Member, Member of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, and Member of the board of Directors of the World Cup 2034 Hosting Higher Authority Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh. The meeting also saw the attendance of Executive Director for the White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup 2026 Andrew Giuliani, alongside government officials, business leaders and investors from the Kingdom and the U.S.
Participants discussed the U.S., Mexico and Canada's experience in hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026, opportunities to expand economic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the U.S., and the role of major sporting events in driving investment in the infrastructure, tourism, technology, hospitality and entertainment sectors, thereby supporting the growth of the global sports economy.
Al Al-Sheikh said that Saudi Arabia's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup 2034 represent an open opportunity for ideas, investment and international partnerships, stressing the importance of leveraging sport as a platform that brings together business, culture and entertainment, while helping deliver exceptional fan experiences.
Meanwhile, Giuliani said that the U.S., Mexico and Canada had successfully staged the FIFA World Cup 2026 and generated lasting economic benefits, expressing his pride in cooperating with Saudi Arabia as it prepares to host the FIFA World Cup 2034.
CEO of the Saudi-U.S. Business Council Charles Hallab said sport has become one of the leading areas of cooperation between the two countries, noting that the American hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and Saudi Arabia's preparations to host the 2034 edition open broad opportunities to strengthen partnerships, stimulate investment and generate sustainable economic value.
He also affirmed the council's commitment to continuing its efforts to bring together government leaders and the business community, strengthen the economic partnership between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, and explore new opportunities for cooperation across the various sectors linked to sport.
