New York, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 16 يوليو 2026ء) The event took place as part of the authority's participation in the Saudi delegation attending the 2026 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in New York.
The authority highlighted Saudi Arabia's endowment sector experience and its institutional and regulatory development in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. It also showcased the Waqf Excellence Index, describing it as a practical tool for enhancing institutional maturity across the endowment sector.
The roundtable explored the potential of endowment as a sustainable financing instrument capable of contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Discussions also focused on the role of governance, transparency and impact measurement in improving the efficiency, credibility and economic and social contributions of endowment institutions.
The roundtable featured extensive discussions on the potential application of the Waqf Excellence Index and its adaptation to different institutional and national contexts.
Participants also explored its use as a practical tool to strengthen governance, accountability, and performance and impact measurement, contributing to the development of endowment institutions and enhancing their effectiveness and long-term developmental impact.
