Saudi Cultural Attaché Highlights Growing Saudi Academic Presence in Canada

Washington, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 11 يوليو 2026ء) In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), following Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to the Kingdom, Dr. Albaiz said that this progress reflects the expanding scope of cooperation between the two countries and the Kingdom's commitment to investing in its people and developing nationally competitive talent in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

She noted that Canada is one of the leading educational destinations for Saudi students, owing to its advanced academic and healthcare ecosystem and its excellence in medical education, clinical training, and scientific research, providing Saudi scholarship students with outstanding opportunities to acquire knowledge and gain experience in world-class academic and professional environments.

She added that the number of Saudi physicians who have graduated or are expected to graduate in health and medical specialties in Canada recorded a remarkable increase of nearly 256%. The number of graduates rose to 606 in 2025, compared with 170 in 2020, reflecting the growing Saudi academic and medical presence at Canadian educational and training institutions.

She added that the Cultural Attaché welcomed a new cohort of 61 Saudi scholarship students under the Pioneers Track for the 2025/2026 academic year, who have enrolled at universities ranked among the world's top 15.

Dr. Albaiz concluded by affirming that the Cultural Attaché will continue its efforts to support Saudi scholarship students throughout their academic journey and strengthen cooperation with Canadian universities and educational and healthcare institutions, contributing to the development of globally competitive national talent and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
